About the Author


Barend Abeln
After receiving a Master’s degree economics in 1964, Barend began his career at Unilever (Rotterdam), in the economics department, reporting on macro-economic developments of European countries. Subsequently he became Product manager Unilever Frozen Foods (Utrecht).
In 1972 he entered the housing market as Founder and CEO of Vlakland Planontwikkeling BV, realizing five 2nd housing projects and one hotel on the French Cõte d’Azur.
In 1982 he established himself in Amsterdam as private investment consultant developing a state of the art seasonal adjustment procedure ‘CAMPLET’ specifically to adjust company interim reports, publishing editorial columns on company results for various periodicals.
He co-authored with Jan P.A.M. Jacobs an article on Seasonal Adjustment with and Without Revisions: A Comparison of X-13ARIMA-SEATS and CAMPLET, publication on Social Science Research Network (SSRN) under http://ssrn.com/author=2426700
